Description

In her senior year at Puyallup High School, Brittany Ward received the Clay Huntington Sports Communication Award for her work as sports editor of her high school newspaper back in 2008. Huntington was a radio sports broadcaster for more than 40 years in Tacoma, covering high school, college and pro sports. He was best known as being the voice of the Tacoma Tigers of the Western International League from 1946 to 1951. Huntington was also a sportswriter for the Tacoma Times and he was one of the founders of the Tacoma Athletic Commission and was a two-time president of the commission.
