Here is a photo of the McMurtry family at Mike McMurtry's birthday celebration. The McMurtry brothers, Pat and Mike, are considered to be the best boxers to come out of Tacoma. Both have been inducted into Tacoma's Sports Museum's Hall of Fame. From left to right, there's Pat McMurtry, Shannon (Pat's baby), Clarence (“Mac”, Pat and Mike's dad), Phyllis (Pat's wife), Maude (Pat's mom), Mike, and Carol (Mike's wife). Photo was taken in 1954 at Clarence and Maude's home at 5426 South K Street. When Clarence married Maude, he told her they were going to have to two sons who were going to box.
