Pat McMurtry ducks under a hard right-hand punch from Chuck Woodworth and counters with a jab to Woodward's midsection in a fight that occurred in 1956. It was McMurtry's third year as a professional fighter. When McMurtry turned pro in 1954, his father, Clarence, became his manager. Clarence was a big influence in Pat and his younger brother, Mike, becoming boxers. When his sons were about 6 years old, he gave them boxing gloves for a Christmas gift and later when they were still young they would box each other prior to a main boxing event in Tacoma.Lexicon
