Description

A bloodied Pat McMurtry takes a right jab to the chest from Bob Albright in this heavyweight bout in 1955 that took place in Seattle. With Albright's 28-pound weight advantage, he landed a lot of inside punches. But McMurtry used his quickness to stay on the attack. However, the fight was stopped in the eighth round because McMurtry had injured his hand in the third round and the fight was ruled a draw. But McMurtry got the win in a rematch fight with Albright on Oct. 13, 1959 when he won by a fifth-round technical knockout. Weeks later, McMurtry would fight his last fight and lost to Eddie Machen, who won by a first-round knockout.
