Art Popham was born in Kansas City and worked as the Oakland Athletics public relations director but spent nearly half of his life in Tacoma. He broadcast Tacoma Tigers baseball games, recreating road games when he could not travel with the team. He was the business columnist for The News Tribune in the 1990s and hosted a talk show on Tacoma’s KTAC. He died in 2002 at the age of 52.Lexicon
