Description

Duane Lowell, pictured here standing in his dorm room at the University of Washington in 1956, was a two-way starter for the Huskies football team. At Lincoln School in Tacoma, Lowell was a three-sport starter, playing football, basketball and baseball. He earned all-state in football his senior year and co-captained the West team in the 1955 all-star game. At the UW, he was a two-way starter and played for coaches John Cherberg, Darrell Royal and Jim Owens. Lowell had four other Lincoln Abe classmates play football on scholarship with him at the UW. They were Luther Carr, Jack Walters, Dennis Adler and Joe Williams.
