Tacoma's Pat McMurtry waits for Ezzard Charles to weigh in before their fight back in July 1956. It was a special fight for McMurtry, who grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Lincoln High School. The fight was fought in Tacoma's Lincoln Bowl. It was an outdoor fight and a crowd of 10,729 cheering fans came out to see their hometown hero fight the former heavyweight champion of the world.
