Description

Pat McMurtry exchanges left-handed jabs with Willie Pastrano in a fight that was held at Tacoma's Lincoln Bowl in August 1956 with 11,095 cheering fans jammed into the outdoor stadium. But McMurtry disappointed his hometown crowd and lost a 10-round decision. Managed by the legendary Angelo Dundee, Pastrano often sparred with Cassius Clay and retired with a record of 63-13 with 8 draws. McMurtry, who was born in 1932 and died in 2011 at age 79 after battling liver cancer, had a 33-4-1 record as a pro and 103-2 record as an amateur.
