Description

Tacoma's Pat McMurtry knocks down Bobo Olson in a pro fight back in 1957 at Portland Meadows. McMurtry won by a second-round knockout. Olson was the world middleweight champ between October 1953 and December 1955, which is the longest reign of any champ in that division during the 1950s. McMurtry, who was born in Tacoma in 1932 and graduated from Lincoln High School, didn't lose in his first 16 pro fights and finished with a 33-4-1 record as a pro.
