Clarence “Mac” McMurtry stands in front of some promotion posters for his sons boxing bouts. His sons, Pat and Mike, are considered to be among the best boxers to ever come out of Tacoma. When Clarence got married, he told his wife they were going to have two sons and both were going to be boxers. His dream came true. Clarence gave his sons boxing gloves when they little, developing their interest for a sport that would become a career. Pat was a heavyweight contender in the 1950s and was ranked as high as fifth in the world and he had a 33-4 pro record after winning his first 16 fights. Mike had an impressive 207-7 record as an amateur boxer.
