Stan Naccarato, a successful business and an influential figure in shaping Tacoma sports, stands with legendary boxer Rocky Marciano in this black-and-white photo taken in 1967 in some special event. Marciano held the world heavyweight title from 1952 to 1956 and is the only boxer to retire undefeated as the champion. Naccarato, who played minor league baseball as a young man, was one of the most influential people in shaping sports in Tacoma. He was a successful businessman who loved sports. In 1971, Naccarato led the effort to bring Triple A baseball back to Tacoma after the Chicago Cubs moved their minor league team from Tacoma. Pat McMurtry, a top-ranked heavyweight boxer in the 1950s, donated the photo.Lexicon
