Standing next to a bowling ball rack, Jackie Pagni (on the left) and Stella Babe Penowich (second on the right) pose for a picture with three other women. Penowich was a frequent competitor in local and national tournaments. In 1950, she competed in the WIBC bowling tournament in St. Paul. She was on the women's all-star team 18 times. In 1953, 1956 and 1957, Penowich had the highest average in the state. Her best series was 689. In 2006, Penowich was inducted into Tacoma's Sports Hall of Fame.Lexicon
