Penowich, a competitive and long-time bowler, was inducted into Tacoma's Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. She was on the women's all-star team 18 times. In 1946, Penowich and Ann Lucchesi teamed up to bowl a 1,238 series, one of the best sets in the nation that year.Lexicon
