Description

The 1970 Heidelberg men's softball team poses for a photo. They were a five-time Northwest regional champion. Gordy Pfeifer, who played basketball, baseball and golf at the University of Puget Sound in the 1960s and has been inducted into the school's hall of fame, coached and played on this Heidelberg team that won five straight regional titles and played at nationals seven straight years. Pfeifer was named to the World All-Star team in 1968 after hitting .833 at the national tournament. Players on this team were, back row: coach Gordy Pfeifer, Dick Zierman, Marco Malick, Bob Young, Dave Bishop, Ken Schulz.
