University of Puget Sound’s Argie Rhymes goes for layup in this black-and-white photograph. UPS took on the University of San Diego at the Daffodil Classic College Basketball Tournament held in 1968 at the UPS Fieldhouse. Rhymes’ talent and skill put him on the All-Time Classic top 10 list in rebounding (sixth, 24), single-game rebounding (third, 24), and single-game scoring (46). The classic was the first event for the annual Daffodil Festival that combined and celebrated the cities of Puyallup, Tacoma, Sumner and Orting. The tournament featured four teams, UPS, USD, Pacific Lutheran and Seattle Pacific.Lexicon
