Description

Hockey legend Guyle Fielder accepts a Seattle Thunderbirds jersey before the start of a WHL Thunderbirds game in 2009. Fielder, who played his junior career mostly for the Seattle Totems in the 1950s-60s, went on to an illustrious, although short-lived, NHL career finishing fourth in scoring for his career behind only Wayne Gretzky, Jaromir Jagr and Gordie Howe. Fielder played 22 seasons in the Western Hockey League and became its biggest star at the time. Fielder won rookie of the year in 1952, was a six-time league MVP, league scoring leader nine times, three-time honoree as the game’s most gentlemanly player and had four season of more than 100 points.
