Description

Lenny Wilkens coached the Seattle SuperSonics to the 1978 NBA World Championship Series, losing in seven games to the Washington Bullets. Wilkens coached the SuperSonics to the NBA championship the following season, beating the Bullets in five games for the franchise's lone NBA title. Wilkens complied a 1,332-1,115 record in 32 seasons as a player/coach and coach in the NBA (Seattle 1969-72 and 1977-85, the Portland Trail Blazers from 1974-76, the Cleveland Cavaliers from 1986-93, the Atlanta Hawks from 1993-2000, the Toronto Raptors from 2000-03 and the New York Knicks from 2003-05. He retired as the NBA's career leader in coaching victories with 1,332 and remains second on the list, behind Don Nelson's 1,335.
