Description

After earning all-league honors playing football at Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Jack Walters went on to play football at the University of Washington on a scholarship during the late 1950s. Walters earned three varsity letters, playing on the varsity as a lineman in 1957, 1958 and 1959. He also played catcher for the Huskies' baseball team. When his college football days were over, Walters became an avid golfer. Walters, a 1956 graduate from Lincoln, was one of six Lincoln Abes on a football scholarship to the UW when he was there. The others were Luther Carr, Jim Jones, Jim Heck, Duane Lowell and Dennis Adler. Carr was the first sophomore to earn a varsity in football at Lincoln.
