The 1973 Tacoma Twins team autographed this baseball. After the 1971 season, the Chicago Cubs pulled the Triple-A team from Tacoma, leaving the city with no minor league team. But local businessmen Stan Naccarato and Clay Huntington led a group of local investors and purchased an affiliation with the Minnesota Twins. They then changed the team's nickname to the Tacoma Twins. From 1972 to 1977, the Tacoma team remained as the Twins. But then in 1978 they became the Tacoma Yankees. But that affiliation with the New York Yankees lasted only one year. Rick Renick played for the Tacoma Twins from 1973 to 1976 and hit 72 home runs, breaking the team record for home runs in a career.
