Description

Here is a color photo of Frosty Westering and his family. Next to Frosty is his wife. From left to right in the back are his children Stacey, Sue, Holly, Brad and Scott. After Frosty's 31-year coaching career at Pacific Lutheran University ended in 2003, his son Scott took over as head coach. Frosty's daughter, Sue, is a gym teacher at Gig Harbor High School and she coaches volleyball. Frosty, who was born Dec. 5, 1927 and died April 12, 2013 at age 85, served in the Marines right after World War II and began his head coaching career in 1962 at Parsons College in Iowa, where he coached for two years and then he coached at Lea college for five years before coming to PLU. His career record of 305-96-7 is a NAIA record for most wins. Westering, who served in the Marine Corps right after World War II, has been inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame.
