Doug Adam wore this softball glove when he was the manager/player for the Irwin-Jones Dodgers in the 1952 national fastpitch championship. Irwin-Jones came in second place in that tournament at Bridgeport, Connecticut. The Irwin-Jones Dodgers were Tacoma's pride and joy in the late 1940s and the early 1950s. Ples Irwin was a major part of the success of this team as a player and as the financial supporter of this team. Irwin became president of the Tacoma Athletic Commission and was involved in presenting the annual Tacoma Golden Gloves award. Jack Hermsen was a key player on the Irwin-Jones Dodgers from 1951 to 1953.
