Description

Game ball from June 10, 1991, autographed by Pat Wernig who threw his first career no-hitter that day for the Tacoma Tigers. The left-handed pitcher defeated Vancouver 1-0 at Cheney Stadium in only his second start following 19 relief appearances. He struck out two and walked three, retiring the last 16 batters in a row to close out the game. It was Tacoma’s first nine-inning no-hitter since 1975. That season, Wernig’s only season in Tacoma, he won seven games with a 4.91 earned run average. He totaled 34 victories during a seven-season professional career that spanned five minor league levels after being drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 15th round of the 1987 MLB June Amateur Draft.
