Description

In 1990, the Goodwill Games were held in Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane and the Tri-Cities. Here is an autographed baseball from those games. The baseball games were played in Tacoma at Cheney Stadium from July 26 to July 31. There were about 2,300 athletes from 54 countries compete in the Goodwill Games, which included 21 sports. Ted Turner created the Goodwill Games because of the political tension between Russia and the United States. After the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979, the United States and other western countries boycotted the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.
