Description

This Northalnd Pro hockey stick was autographed by Tacoma Rockets left wing Doug Adam and is believed to be from the late 1940s. The stick has black tape on the blade and knob. Adam played for the Rockets of the Pacific Coast Hockey League from 1947-52 as well as the Rockets’ Western Hockey League team in 1952-53. During his stay in Tacoma, Adam was called up to the National Hockey League and played four games for the New York Rangers during the 1949-50 season, recording one assist. Adam also played for the Seattle Bombers (1953-54) and Vancouver Canucks (1954-55) of the WHL. He went on to become player/coach of the Philadelphia Ramblers (1958-61) of the Eastern Hockey League and Rochester Americans (1971-72) of the American Hockey League. Adam was replaced midway through the season as Americans coach by Don Cherry, who went on to coach the Boston Bruins and Colorado Rockies, then became a broadcaster on Hockey Night in Canada.
