Mike Ingraham enjoyed a 40-year career in newspapers that included working as a sportswriter, editing and being a co-owner of a newspaper. For 20 years he worked with the Tacoma News Tribune and for 16 years he was the co-owner, editor and publisher of the Western Gambling Journal. While working as a sportswriter for the TNT for more than 20 years, he covered a variety of sports. Besides preps and college, Ingraham also covered the Tacoma Tigers. He also worked as a copy editor and as a page editor for 15 years. But Ingraham made his mark covering bowling tournaments for the TNT, covering hundreds of tournaments. During the 1970s, Ingraham received an award by the Professional Bowling Association for writing more about pro bowling than any other sports writer in the country. He was on the selection committee that voted for both the Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Fame and the American Bowling Congress Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the Greater Tacoma Bowling Association Hall of Fame and the Northwest Bowlers Association Hall of Fame.Lexicon
