Description

A Koho hockey stick was autographed by members of the 1990 United States Winter Goodwill Games ice hockey team. “Team U.S.A. Goodwill Games” is written on the blade of the stick. Preliminary and consolation round games were played at the Tri-Cities Coliseum in Kennewick, with the semifinals and finals at the Tacoma Dome. The Soviet Union beat the United States 4-3 in a penalty shootout to win the gold medal, with Canada beating Sweden 6-1 to claim the bronze. The 1990 Goodwill Games made international headlines as Soviet Union hockey star Sergei Fedorova defected prior to the first game to sign with the Detroit Red Wings.
