Description

Clint Names was a sharp-shooting forward on Tacoma Plywood's basketball team that won a the national amateur title in 1971 and 1973. While playing for Stadium High School in the early 1950s, Names scored 39 points, leading the Tigers to a 64-63 win against a top-ranked Richland team. Names then played basketball and golf at the University of Washington from 1957 to 1961. In 1961 in his senior year at the UW, Names won the conference title in golf and earned second-team All-American. In basketball, he was first-team, all-conference. In 1973, Names earned MVP honors while playing for Tacoma Plywood.
