Description

A hockey puck from the 1990 Winter Goodwill Games was autographed in silver ink by Soviet Union star Sergei Fedorov. Fedorov made international headlines when, while in Portland prior to the Goodwill Games, he defected to the United States and signed a five-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings, who drafted him No. 74th overall in the 1989 entry draft. Fedorov went on to be the Hart Trophy winner as the NHL’s most valuable player following the 1993-94 season. Fedorov won the Stanley Cup three times (1997, 1998, 2002) with the Red Wings and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015 and the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 2016. Fedorov was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history in 2017.
