Description

This sweater - adorned with the Team USA logo - was part of the parade uniform worn by Tacoma’s Gretchen Kunigk-Fraser in the 1948 Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. She was the first American to win an Olympic gold medal in alpine skiing. She won gold in the slalom and silver in the combined at the 1948 Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. She had previously qualified for the 1940 Olympics along with her Husband, Don Fraser, but the games were canceled because of World War II.
