Description

Ron Medved wore this football helmet when he played for the Philadelphia Eagles. After graduating from Bellarmine Prep in 1962, he played running back at the University of Washington from 1963 to 1966 and played on the Huskies Pac-8 championship team in 1964. He was the team captain and an academic All-American in 1965. That year he earned a spot in the East-West Shrine game and Hula Bowl game and also played in the coaches' All-American Game. After being the UW's starting running for three years, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles and played defensive back. From 1966-70, Medved played defensive back for the Eagles and was the team's player representative from 1969-70. He was inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
