Description

Mel Maughey, racing in No. 2 race car, is in second place and tries to move past the leader in a midget car race. Because of the high powered engines and light weight cars, modern midget cars have roll cages for safety. Typically, midget race cars have 300 to 400 horsepower and weigh about 900 pounds. The big engines and small bodies combined to make for fast cars and can reach speeds of over 120 miles per hour
