Stan Naccarato, as the president and general manager of the Tacoma Yankees, was presented this gold ring when the Tacoma Yankees won the Pacific Coast League championship in 1978. Naccarato, who was nicknamed “Stan the Man” and was born and raised in Tacoma, helped keep minor league baseball in Tacoma when the Tacoma Cubs left after the 1971 season. In the only season the Yankees were affiliated with Tacoma's minor league team, the New York Yankees compiled a 100-win season and won the American League East title over the Boston Red Sox. That same year the Tacoma Yankees compiled an 80-57 record and advanced to the league championship. Tacoma and Albuquerque were named PCL co-champs that year after the championship series was canceled due to rain.Lexicon
