Description

A ring with a red stone awarded to New York Cosmos defender Jeff Durgan for winning the 1980 Rookie of the Year for the North American Soccer League. On one side of the ring is the NASL logo; on the other is the logo of sponsor Dr. Pepper. Durgan, a Tacoma native and Stadium High School graduate, played for the Cosmos from 1980-85. In 1983, he played for Team America, made up of players from the NASL, Major Indoor Soccer League and American Soccer League. Durgan was Team America’s captain. Durgan earned seven caps with the U.S. national team from 1983-85, scoring one goal. Durgan also played for the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
