Former Curtis High School star Isaiah Thomas went on to play three seasons (2008-11) for the University of Washington As a freshman in the 2008-09 season, Thomas was named the Pac-10 freshman of the year and earned second team all-Pac-12 honors. He was named to the all-freshman team by multiple organizations. Thomas had scored 1,134 points by the end of his sophomore season, setting a UW record for most points in their first two seasons. He was voted first-team all-Pac-10. During his junior season, Thomas led the Huskies in scoring, assists, steals and minutes, earning all-Pac-10 honors for the second time and was noted honorable mention All-America by The Associated Press. Thomas made one of the most famous shots in UW basketball history, a jump shot at the buzzer to beat Arizona in overtime for the 2011 Pac-10 tournament championship. He was a two-time selection as the Pac-10 tournament's Most Outstanding Player. He was the 60th and final pick of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings and a two-time NBA All-Star (2016-17). His No. 2 was retired by the Huskies in 2018.
