Bruce Alexander, a longtime NBA referee who grew up in Tacoma, wore this jersey as he officiated. Alexander was a NBA ref for 25 years from 1975 to 2000. Long before Alexander became a NBA referee, he planted his basketball roots. He played basketball for Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma in the 1950s. Later, he played on the Cheney Studs basketball team from Tacoma that was coached by Ron Billings, a longtime Lincoln High School coach.
