In his 25 years as an NBA official, Bruce Alexander used this whistle to call fouls. Alexander, who played basketball for Franklin Pierce High School in the 1950s, was an NBA referee from 1975 to 2000. Over those years, Alexander refereed many Seattle Sonic games. Alexander is the only NBA official from Tacoma. He had a solid background in basketball. After he played high school basketball, he played in the 1960s for the Cheney Studs, Tacoma's longtime amateur basketball team.Lexicon
