Here's a framed team photo of the 1956 Stanley Shoeman baseball team after winning the World Amateur Baseball Championships. This national championship team was coached by Doug McArthur, who went on to be inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Hall of Fame and an award with his name is annually presented for lifetime achievement in sports. Players on this national championship team were Jack Johnson, George Grant, Gord Grubert, Pat Dillion, Max Braman, Dick Montgomery, Bob Maguinez, Jim Harney, Jim Gallwas, Ron Storaasli, Ray Spalding, Earl Hyder, Monte Geiger, Manly Mitchell, Dale Bloom and Dick Schlosstein. Stan Naccarato sponsored the team.
