The Tacoma Twins were the AAA-affiliate of the Minnesota Twins from 1972-77.
Future World Series-winning manager Tom Kelly skippered the 1977 Tacoma Twins to a 28-26 record as a player/coach after playing the previous four seasons in Tacoma. Kelly managed the World Series champion Minnesota Twins in 1987 and 1991.
Kelly’s teammates in 1973 included Charlie Manuel, who managed the Philadelphia Phillies to the World Series title in 2008.
