Description

This is a pennant of the Tacoma Yankees that was sponsored by KTNT Radio, which broadcasted Tacoma's games. It's a unique pennant. They were the Tacoma Yankees for only one season back in 1978. And in that lone season as the Yankees and with Mike Ferraro as the manager, the Tacoma Yankees finished the regular season with an impressive 80-57 record and qualified for the league championship as they outscored their opponents 779-619. But the Pacific Coast League championship was canceled due to rain that year and the Tacoma Yankees were named co-PCL champs with Albuquerque. Prior to that season's affiliation with the New York Yankees, they were the Tacoma Twins from 1972 to 1977.
