In the 1950s, the Heidelberg Trophy was awarded annually to Tacoma’s female skiing champion. Winners include Skeeter Ellis, Dolly Johnson, Delores Jordahl and Nancy Creswell. Creswell worked as a ski instructor on Mount Rainier where she taught the sport to numerous people.
