Oscar (Ocky) Haugland was the coach of the Superior Dairy baseball team that won the 1934 City League championship in Tacoma. Haugland both managed the team and played on the team. He has been inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame. The Superior Dairy baseball team also won the 1935 city league championship. Superior Dairy was a popular team and they would have lots of fans pack Lincoln Bowl whenever they played a game there. Walt Jutte, who was born in 1914 in Uniontown, Washington, played shortstop for the Superior Dairy baseball team in the Tacoma League through the late 1930s into the 1950s. When he was 44 to 48 years old, Jutte continued to play shortstop for the Tacoma Oldtimers, who would occasionally played the inmates at the prison on McNeil Island.
