Description

Mick Kelleher used this Louisville Slugger baseball bat when he played for the Tacoma Cubs in 1978. Before Kelleher played for the Tacoma Cubs, he played baseball for the University of Puget Sound in 1968 and 1969. He was then drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the third round of the 1969 draft. Kelleher, who graduated from Shoreline High School north of Seattle, went on to play 11 years in the major leagues, playing for the Cardinals in 1972, '73 and '75. He then played infield for four more major league teams. He played for the Houston Astros in 1974, the Chicago Cubs in 1976-80, the Detroit Tigers in 1981-82 and then the California Angels in 1982. He showed his talent when he set a minor league record for shortstops with a .979 field percentage when he played for the Tulsa Oilers in 1972.
