Here is a red, white and blue commemorative pin of the Tacoma Cubs. It is made of steel with an enamel base. Tacoma's Triple-A minor league ballclub was called the Tacoma Cubs from 1966 to 1971. The Chicago Cubs used Tacoma as their Triple-A team for six seasons. Whitey Lockman managed the Tacoma Cubs for the first four years and led the team to the 1969 Pacific Coast League championship in 1969. That year the Tacoma Cubs finished with an 86-60 record and had a combined pitching ERA of 3.01. The Cubs left Tacoma after the 1971 season but local businessmen Stan Naccarato and Clay Huntington helpede keep Triple-A baseball in Tacoma and the team became affilitated with the Minnesota Twins. They were the Tacoma Giants from 1960 to 1965 and then became the Tacoma Cubs for six seasons.
