Description

This Tacoma Sabercats road jersey was worn by goalie Gord Besse during the team’s inaugural 1997-98 season in the West Coast Hockey League. Besse played 80 minutes over four games for the Sabercats, making 24 saves and allowing four goals for a 2.98 goals against average and a 0.857 save percentage. The jersey has a "Tacoma Sabercats Inaugural Season 97-98" sleeve patch. The stitches below the No. 1 on the back of the jersey are for the fight strap, which prevents the jersey from being pulled over the player’s head during a fight, which would render him at a disadvantage.
