Description

A black-colored, wool beret with ribbon binding, rosette and two streamers are shows in this photo. Attached are eight metal curling pins along the side, awarded to Johnnie Walker Highland Weed of International Curling 1974-79, 1982 and United States Curling Association (USCA) 1984. Curling was first introduced on the West Coast at the Lakewood Ice Arena. The curling club was one of many popular sports played at the rink including hockey and figure skating. The ice arena was the entertainment hub from its opening in 1938 until 1982 when part of the building collapsed and the rest was demolished. Belonged to Stephen C. Brightman
