Description

Rawlings Official Baseball for the Pacific Coast League signed in black ink by multiple members of the 2000 Tacoma Rainiers. The 2000 squad – the AAA affiliate for the AL Wild Card winner Seattle Mariners – finished the year with a 76-67 record under the leadership of manager Dave Myers. Pat Ahearne led the pitching staff with 13 wins and 268 innings pitched, while Ryan Franklin won 11 games with 164 innings pitched. Top Mariners prospect Ryan Anderson won five games and struck out a team-best 146 batters in only 104 innings pitched at 20 years of age, while 21-year-old fellow prospect Joel Pineiro won seven games with a 2.80 earned run average. Outfielder Mike Neill led the team with a .310 batting average and .423 on base percentage, while a pair of young Mariners prospects, 22-year old second baseman Willie Bloomquist and 24-year-old shortstop Carlos Guillen spent part of the year with the team.
