Description

This white swim cap was won by Puyallup’s Megan (Quann) Jendrick, who won two gold medals at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia in the 100-meter breaststroke and 400-meter relay. At 16, Quann was the youngest member of the US swim team. After missing out on the 2004 Games, she made the 2008 team and earned a silver medal in the 4x100 medley relay. Quann burst onto the swimming scene in 1998 after placing winning the breaststroke at the U.S. National Championships, set an American record at the U.S. Open in the breaststroke and a bronze at the Goodwill Games. In Sydney, Quann set an American record in the breast and was part of the world-record setting 4x100 relay team. Quann married Nathan Jendrick, retired in 2004, came back and then retired again in 2013. Jendrick set 27 American records and four world records during her career. She is a 13-time national champion, 10-time U.S. Open champion, set seven masters world records and 15 U.S. Masters national records.
