Description

A light-blue colored skating costume, trimmed in blue beads and ostrich-style fur trim at the bottom is part of the personal artifacts from skater Patsy Hamm-Dillingham. Hamm was successful with several partners during her career, winning the Northwest and Pacific Coast Junior Pairs and Ladies Pairs events by 1948. In 1949 Hamm won the Northwest Novice Ladies title and placed fourth in the U.S. North American team Senior Pairs. Her success continued in 1950 when she won Northwest Junior Ladies and Northwest and Pacific Coast Senior Pairs championships. Hamm, a Clover Park graduate, began skating professionally in 1951 and teaching classes at the Lakewood rink. Hamm was inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
