Members of the Peterson Building Company Athletics Baseball team pose for a team photo circa 1960. Charles “Cap” Peterson, back row first from left, Peterson was a 1960 graduate of Clover Park High School and signed with the Giants in what would turn into an eight-year Major League career. Peterson was named the MVP of the Minor League El Paso Sun Kings in 1962 earning a call up to the Giants. During a five-year stint with San Francisco, Peterson played in 244 games before moving on to play for the Washington Senators in 1967. It was with Washington that Peterson had his best season with 17 doubles, eight home runs, 46 runs batted in and a .240 average. Peterson eventually finished his career with Cleveland in 1969 and his minor league career in Wichita. Peterson was inducted into the Washington State Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
