Description

A National Archery Association of the United States metal pendant shows a shape with an archer figure awarded to Harry “Sonny” Johns. Johns, of Tacoma, was a Pacific Northwest champion and the Washington State Archery Association’s Junior Champion from 1937-1940. It was during that time Johns won the boys national junior title as well. The national association was founded in 1939, and is now known as the National Field Archery Association. It consists of 49 chartered state organizations and nearly 1,000 clubs. Various classes of archery within the association include are bow, freestyle, freestyle limited, freestyle bowhunter, traditional, freestyle limited recurve and crossbow.
